Knowledge makes humans real intelligent species among other living things. But lesser
mortals like us hardly get enlightened with this blessing. I guess I'm one of those fewer luckiest lots to grab this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Recently, I'v been going through this enlightening process thanks to the higher breed of human race called the "HR" community. Such is their intelligent aura that I'm blissed with the glory of knowledge surmonned by this finer lot.
Knowledge came to me in bits and pieces, courtesy the smarter human race called the HR community. My cell phone rings without a stop. I'm getting endless phone calls with job offers. Thanks to the bombardment of MNCs, the corporate sector is so
alluring these days with lucrative job opportunities. Even I tend to be smitten by this MNC bug. So I decided to take a bite of the cake! But the cake has its bitter sweet taste. Let me share it with you.
Call 1: A husky voice. Unmistakably fair accent. I can imagine a smart young woman with a communicable attitude. The call was for the post of
technical writer. Her first question. "Tell me about your academic life". I'm right now at the last stage of my PhD. Pat came her response. "It's nice to hear that you're pursuing your PhD. Have you completed BA or MA?" Hey, what's that? Confusing.
Call 2: A smart HR fellow with his attractive voice. His question, "What are you doing presently?" Well, I'm pursuing my PhD. His response, "Oh, that's cool. Any BA or MA?"
Call 3: Another smart response from a different young HR. I'm completing my PhD soon. "Okay. But we want someone with an MA degree. Do you have any?"
Goodness Gracious!! I really don't know how to react to the understatements of such elite professionals. Okay. Here's a basic tip for these smart elites. The basic
eligibility condition for a PhD scholar is a Master's Degree. Forget M. Phil., they won't even grasp it!!
Hope next time the HR community don't embarras itself by asking the desirable candidates such unknowledgeable quaries. After all, smart people need to prove their
smartness at some point of time or other. God bless them!
